Sardinian exports, the commitment of the region

Los Angeles, London and Singapore in less than one month’s time. The Regional Government will focus on these three cities the most important initiatives aimed at promoting the exports of Sardinian companies and attract new foreign investors in the Island. The participation of Sardinian entrepreneurs at events, meetings and various workshops is the result of several actions supported by the Ministry for Industry through its the three-year Programme for Internationalization. The Programme was launched in 2015 and is in full swing: it includes measures to provide funding and support to micro, small and medium enterprises and to facilitate support services for institutional promotion. The results are positive, and the Ministry is closely following the implementation of the various initiatives, monitoring the market penetration plans drawn up by the companies which participated to the tenders and the training courses organized in Cagliari, Sassari and in other territories. Over 200 companies responded to the tenders in both single and associated form; the goal is to continue to ensure that businesses are aggregated to seize the opportunities offered by foreign markets.


On October 25 and 26, in Los Angeles, startups and Sardinian innovative companies that replied to the notice published in the month of August will be promoted and presented to an audience of investors. The companies will also benefit from the experience of a group of professionals dedicated to them. The group will support entrepreneurs by carrying out check-ups with particular attention to the commercial, communication and organization sides of the business. Fifteen companies, that are part of strategic networks, landed in the United States: their fields of activities range from smart manufacturing to fashion and design, food and foodtech, energy, ICT and financial innovation. Among them, there are companies that deal with for infomobility systems, installation of technological benches, software for man-machine interaction, systems for the production and exploitation of energy and innovative products like cork beds. The events, organized by the Ministry of Industry in collaboration with ICE Agency, will be held at the Kretz Innovation Campus in Los Angeles and in the Expert Dojo accelerator in Santa Monica. There will also be training sessions and B2B meetings with local investors.


On the other hand, the Sardinian food specialties agribusiness will fly to London next week to attend the "Real Italian Wine and Food" which will be held in the British capital the next 30 and 31st of October. The 27 participating companies, selected by the Ministry of Industry, cover the entire production chain, from wines to cheeses, from meats to pasta, from craft beer to confectionery and bakery products. The two-day program of the event is particularly intense. On Monday there will be a cooking demonstration with London chefs and restaurateurs at the prestigious Westminster Kingsway College, an event which will be attended also by students of the College and some journalists from specialized magazines. Next, during a meeting with local importers and distributors, the Sardinian companies will be presented to the British market. On the 31st, during the Real Italian Wine & Food event, master classes, B2B meetings, tastings of sample products and workshops are scheduled in the Church House in Westminster.


Finally, the last details for the participation of the Sardinian delegation to the Italian Innovation Day to be held in the last week of November in Singapore are being finalised. In addition to the Regional representatives, the Universities of Cagliari and Sassari, CRS4, Sardegna Ricerche and eleven companies that offer innovative products and services will attend. This initiative, part of the Program for Internationalization prepared by the Department of Industry, sees the collaboration of MISE and ICE agency. Participation to these events has two objectives: to attract new foreign investment and promote start-ups and innovative companies. The event in Singapore does not provide for marketing opportunities of consumer products, but will give entrepreneurs the opportunity to meet potential partners and investors. Sardinia will present itself at the cutting edge of technology and innovation with incubators, start-up companies of the bio-life sectors, bio technologies, life sciences, green power and medtech.
