The Region of Sardinia has announced a 7.5 million euros investment to promote local brewers. This funding, suggested by the Regional Council on the initiative of Councillor for Agriculture Gianfranco Satta, includes two lines of intervention and aid. The first line pays a premium to cereal farmers who join a supply chain agreement and plant distichous barley for beer manufacturing. The second line is on investments in the building and modernisation of craft and agricultural brewers.

The resources for grain growers' premiums total 4.5 million euros, which will be awarded at a rate of 200 euros per hectare of farmed land to those who sign the sector agreement.

The funds available for investments in the building and refurbishment of craft and agricultural breweries that sign a supply chain agreement amount to 3 million euros. In this instance, each firm can make a maximum total contribution of 200,000 euros. The aid intensity equals 60% of the qualified costs.

The Laore agency will supervise the measures for both lines of help.
