The European Commission has approved, in accordance with EU rules on State aid, an Italian scheme of 1.2 billion euros, from NRRP funds, to support investments in photovoltaic panels in agriculture, livestock and agro-industry.
The scheme, which will run until 30 June 2026, aims to support investments by agricultural, agri-food and agro-industrial enterprises in the use of renewable energy, with the consequent improvement of the competitiveness of the sector and positive effects on the climate.
The aid will consist of direct grants of up to 90% of the eligible investment costs, subject to ceilings depending on the capacity of the PV plant concerned. The beneficiaries will be able to invest exclusively in photovoltaic capacities that do not exceed their energy needs.
