The guarantee agreement between Mediocredito Centrale and Cassa Depositi e Prestiti is now operational. The agreement will make available 4.3 billion euros in new financing from the banking system to 50,000 SMEs, with the aim of promoting their competitiveness and investment.
Through the hedging mechanisms activated with the EIF (European Investment Fund), CDP will be able to grant guarantees amounting to 2.8 billion euros to the Guarantee Fund, managed by Mediocredito Centrale on behalf of MISE. In turn, the Fund will be able to provide cover for new loans disbursed by the banking system to about 50,000 SMEs for a total amount that may exceed 4.3 billion euros.
In particular, the sums available will be broken down into about 3 billion for the competitiveness of SMEs, more than 1 billion for the cultural and creative sector, and over 300 million euros for the education sector.
