The Ministry of Agricultural Food and Forestry Policies has issued a decree allocating 25 million euros to the horticultural sector, as an aid to counteract the effects of higher energy prices due to the current economic crisis, generated by the international instability, caused by the Ukrainian war.

According to Istat estimates, the measure should involve more than 8000 horticultural enterprises, for a total of about 8814 hectares of areas in greenhouses or protected structures, which, according to the needs, require both cooling and heating.

The allowable contribution, also in compliance with the provisions of the Temporary European Reference Framework, is equal to 30% of the higher costs incurred in the March-August 2022 period compared to those incurred in the same period last year, for the management of production activities, carried out essentially in greenhouses, for the purchase of electricity, natural gas, LPG, diesel and biomass used for combustion in the company.

It is possible to allocate a deposit equal to 90% of the contribution due.
