The EU is moving towards a new code of conduct for the intelligent use of intellectual property. The European Commission has promised to update by 2022 the guiding principles for the valorisation of knowledge in order to achieve various objectives in the context of the development of the European Research Area. Among the objectives to be pursued through the adoption of a new Code on Intellectual Property is pivotal to establish a unitary patent, the aim of which is to ensure access to effective and affordable intellectual property protection. With the unitary patent it will be possible to introduce the results of Community research at industrial level, facilitating European competitiveness in the technological market. On the creation of the code of conduct, a consultation is open, and it is possible to participate in the collection of ideas and opinions through a questionnaire to be filled in at this link
