The European Commission has invited businesses, public administrations and other organisations to submit proposals for innovative cybersecurity solutions and to apply for EU funding under the Digital Europe programme. There are 176.5 million euros available for grants to improve tools and infrastructure for enhanced cybersecurity cooperation between the Member States and the Commission.

The calls, which will remain open until 15 February 2023, aim to strengthen the cybersecurity of the 5G network infrastructure by supporting secure services and improving the testing and certification capabilities of technological solutions and services. The respective grants will also support the implementation of the new rules on cybersecurity of networks and information systems (NIS Directive 2) in national legislation, as well as the ability of operational security centres across the EU to collect and share information on computer incidents. The aim is to help strengthen the EU’s resilience and cybersecurity capacity to protect, detect, defend and deter cyber-attacks.
