The farewell to gasoline and diesel is approaching: from 2035 onwards the EU will only produce "electric" or eco-fueled cars and vans. This was decided by the European Environment Ministers at the end of a long meeting that lasted almost 17 hours; it began on 28 June and ended at 3 am of 29 June. The final step of the new European standard will be taken in the autumn, but the line to follow on cars and the maxi green package "Fit for 55" has been drawn.

The stop to the production of non-electrical vehicles will have two derogations: luxury cars of historic brands such as Ferrari can continue to be sold with classic thermal engines; there will still be room for coexistence between the eco-fuels and the electric, for a more sustainable transition under the technological and social perspective.
