Five million euros to support literary translations and the promotion of books in EU countries.
The European Commission has published the call for proposals for the circulation of European literary works under the Creative Europe Programme. With a budget of 5 million euros, the initiative aims to facilitate the translation, publication, distribution and promotion of various genres of European literary works, including novels, poems and comics, through some 40 projects.
Eligible entities, regardless of whether they apply individually or as part of a consortium, are invited to develop comprehensive publishing and promotional strategies for projects involving at least five eligible literary works, translated from and into the eligible languages.
The size of funded projects varies from small-scale projects (up to 10 books, € 100,000) to medium-scale projects (up to 20 books, € 200,000) to large-scale projects (at least 21 books, € 300,000). Projects must meet the general eligibility conditions and include at least five translations.
The deadline for registration is 16 April 2024.
