ICE, the Agency for foreign promotion and internationalization of Italian companies, has scheduled for November 12 at the Anna Crowne Plaza in Kyoto and for November 13 at The Strings Omotesando in Tokyo a Wine Exchange dedicated to the Japanese market. The event is among the initiatives of Ice for the promotion of Italian wine in Asia and the Pacific, which in November will bring the protagonists of the sector in China, Japan and Singapore. This format, which has already been tested successfully, allows the setup of workshops and tasting sessions in prestigious locations. Specialized operators of the sector, such as importers, distributors, restaurateurs, journalists and wine lovers, selected and contacted by the Tokyo branch of ICE, are invited to the event.

The Wine Exchange in Kyoto and Tokyo is also part of the eighth edition of "Six thousand years of Italian wine", organised with the Italian Embassy in Tokyo. In 2017 the Japanese import of Italian wine was 21 million and 725 thousand yen, for a total of 42 868 liters, with a quantitative increase of 10% compared to the previous year. The first supplier countries by value are France, Chile and Italy. Japanese consumers have expertise and great attention to product quality, but the price is playing a greater role than in the past.

The interested operators have until September 7th to register.
