ICE, the Italian Foreign Trade Agency, organizes the participation of Italian companies at the London Book Fair, in London from 12 to 14 March. The United Kingdom is the fifth largest publishing market in the world after the US, China, Germany and Japan. According to the Publishers Association estimates, in 2017 the total turnover of paper and digital book sales rose by 4% to 3.700 billion pounds, about 4 billion euros. Exports have increased by 7% for paper and digital books, for a value of 1.6 billion pounds, equal to almost 1.8 billion euros.
The London Book Fair is one of the leading exhibitions in the publishing industry. The important professional appointment for the exchange of publishing rights and collaborations, in 2018 saw the participation of 25 thousand visitors from all over the world.
