Italian wine is targeting the South Korean market

Among the initiatives that in 2019 will be dedicated to the promotion of Italian wine in the Asian market, these ICE, the Italian foreign trade agency, has organised the Wine Exchange in South Korea, in agenda on February 25th at the Plaza Hotel in Seoul. South Korea is the twelfth economy in the world, and the fourth in Asia. With 51 million consumers, it is one of the most dynamic markets in the Far East and one of the most interesting in the world for growth rates and level of openness to Western consumption patterns.

The wine market is constantly growing in South Korea. Italy is its third wine supplier after France and Chile, with a share of 13.9%. According to data referring to the period from January to August 2018, Korean wine imports recorded an increase of 24.8% over the previous year. The import of Italian wines has increased by 17.2%, that of France by 29%, by Chile by 18.3%, by the US by 18.5%, with a value of 22 million US dollars.

 

To register there is time until December 14th. The application form and general regulation must be completed, stamped, signed and transmitted via certified email to vini@cert.ice.it. A maximum of 25 companies will be admitted.
