OP EMFF 2014-2020- FLAG

On 2 July 2016, the Regional Minister for Agriculture signed a decree to establish FLAGs (Fisheries Local Action Groups), formerly known as Coastal Action Groups. The decree established funding of nearly €5.3 million.

FLAGs are local development instruments based on a participatory approach. They create a local partnership comprising local entities, operators, associations and stakeholders with the objective of proposing integrated development strategies for the sustainable development of coastal, maritime and lagoon areas.

The decree allows the creation of a maximum 4 FLAGs through a competitive procedure; each will receive funding based on their final score: €1.5 million for the best group, €1.3 million for the second and €1 million for the third and fourth.
